Last Quarter: Virgo
Though I’ve started this page with the new moon in Sagittarius, this week were are closing out a cycle. Today, December 11, 2025, we see the last quarter moon in Virgo. The cycle started with Scorpio (new) → Pisces (first quarter) → Gemini (super full) → Virgo (last quarter). This was a journey of emotional depth → mental clarity. From Scorpio to Gemini, this cycle was a practice of shadow work and light-heartedness, reflection and expression. Intersected with Pisces and Virgo, it was an opportunity to name your dreams (and the fears that sit beside them) to begin crafting them into reality.
If see the cycle as a storyline, Scorpio opens the story with reconciling your past as the main driver. I like to compare Scorpio to the Mariana Trench, the deepest part of the ocean. Sometimes I think of it as an underground river. The Scorpio archetype craves that exploration of the subterranean. Scorpio naturally digs into the ignored, neglected, and hidden parts of life. It settles there, studying and learning the contours of the mysterious. Scorpio seems to understand the difference between fear and danger. They’re both real. Scorpio wants to sit with fears, to understand what this shapeless thing is.
Pisces is another water sign. It is more like a mist or water vapour. It is the part of us that merges to surroundings, absorbing whatever sensations and emotions are around us. This is a waypoint of compassion for yourself, life in your community, and life in the universe. Then we get to the full moon perigee syzygy full moon (i.e., supermoon) in Gemini. Gemini is my natural state of being, albeit as the fourth house ruler. Bilbo Baggins may have the same placement. This full moon acts as your chance to reflect on the stories you have been telling yourself about how you move through the world.
Finally, the resting phase: the last quarter. Virgo brings us structured rest.
How does order support your peace?

The card I pulled to answer this question is the Three of Spirit. It couldn’t be more meaningful, especially for this cycle and this time of year. The symbolism on the card shows the three rays of Awen, a trinity: earth, sea and sky; body, mind, spirit; love, wisdom, truth. The word “spirit” has the Latin root “spir” to mean breath. Let your creative energy fill you with inspiration and breathe life into what your aligns with your heart with those who share your aspirations. This whole cycle has been about depth, connection, and communication. From the reference book for this deck, “Trust the process of co-creation and remain open to the guidance of spirit, allowing the energy of Awen to lead you towards growth and fulfillment.” I love it.
